Rubin, A., & Salmieri, D. (2012). Dragons Love Tacos (Illustrated ed.). Dial Books.
Summary:
Bright story about humans befriending dragons with tacos. The book specifies these mythical creatures absolutely hate spicy salsa as this makes their ears smoke, makes them snort sparks and gives them stomach troubles. It also talks about how they love parties because of the conversation, the dancing and the sound of a friend's laugh. What dragons love more than these two, is these two things combined: taco parties. You are to host a taco party that begins very well. All the dragons have fun until one of them finds a salsa with jalapeños in it and the dragons are not able to stop themselves from eating the tacos. This triggers their fire and they accidentally burn the house down. They also help you rebuild it, from the goodness of their hearts, partial guilt, and definitely the taco breaks.
Rubin and Salmieri created a humorous story where the protagonists are beautifully illustrated as cartoon dragons with radiant and bright watercolors to display the essence of these mystical creatures. The cover of the book is colorful and displays a dragon eating tacos that easily captivates the reader's attention.
