Summary:
This brief comic-style book presents stories inspired by famous folktales from around the world. In the first story, Mac and Mac Noodleheads try to help Uncle Ziti, however, their lack of figurative language triggers Uncle Ziti’s exasperation. In the second story, Mac and Mac are certain that if they gather firewood, their Mom will be so grateful that she will bake them a cake. However, they get tricked by Meatball in the process. Luckly, they are able to accomplish a greater task for their mother, resulting in a delicious cake.
Tedd Arnold does a superb job with the illustrations in this book. The cartoonish artwork certainly captures the reader’s attention. Additionally, it narrates the story perfectly. This book can be used to introduce children to different folktales in a comical way. This book is targeted for worldwide young audiences in elementary school.
